All Wrapped Up

Winter is still with us in South Devon. The holiday makers are already arriving for Easter, this year they'll need their thermals. I love this time of year. It marks the start of spring (although it doesn't feel like it) and all the visitors to the region liven the place up adding an energy and colour that's missing during the winter months. Brixhams seasonal cafes and gift shops, ice cream bars and kiosks have been spruced up for this years holiday makers. The boats have been painted-it's fun to see the tide go out and watch the painters either standing in the mud, up ladders or hanging over decks with their brushes and paint pots in a race against the tide.

Winter in Brixham

Lovely to see people out walking along the Breakwater, its bitterly cold here which is unusual for this time of year. The sea is calm in the harbour but crashing up against the Breakwater wall and the beach. I took this photo on Sunday afternoon, its the best I could get considering the weather conditions. In my enthusiasm to finally get this blog going I realised I didn't have a photo to start my blog with! So I jumped into the car (it was too cold to walk into town-honest) and tried to get something I could use. My fingers were freezing. I came back home thinking it was all a waste of time and I'd just have to wait until the sun shone...but then looking at the weather forecast I was going to have to wait a long time! So here it is. My very first post on my very first blog all about Brixham.
